Mauritius is an island nation 1200 miles off the Africa mainland and directly East of Madagascar. The island is nothing but spectacularly beautiful with gorgeous beaches and lush green forests.
The deer hunting is very good on Mauritius. The Javan Rusa deer were brought to the island for meat and hunting in colonial times. They have thrived on the island with a herd estimated at 40,000 animals. Hunting is conducted by MEA’s operator on two private properties of 14,000 and 10,000 acres, respectively.
Hunting is 1×1 and can be arranged for 2 or more days.
Best way to appreciate Mauritius in our opinion is to book a hunt plus fishing which is also excellent and a couple of days of touring or just relaxing at your beach resort. Sadie and I will be on Mauritius in Oct/Nov of this year for 2 days of hunting, 4 days of inshore and offshore fishing followed by 2 days of touring. We can’t wait!
